I know I'm meant for something else ♥

So when the thought of going on a mission trip first came to mind years ago… I honestly never thought I would end up going to India. It definitely wasn’t a place that crossed my mind, and it wasn’t one that I was too keen on going to. Truth be told, prior to the previous team’s trip 2 years ago, I have never heard of the Dalits, let alone the fact that there’s 250 million of them. That number always blows my mind. That out there, in other parts of the world.. there are that many people living the life of poverty, illiteracy, and social injustice.

After I heard the stories from friends that went on that trip back in 2010, I’ve had a burning desire to do something for the Dalits. I took baby steps with that, from performing in the first sharing hope concert, to helping out with Dream Night, and organizing last year’s 2nd sharing hope benefit concert along with Kevin and Amy.

During that time, I also faced many struggles and disappointments along the way.. and at times, was left extremely discouraged by situations that I found myself in. Ultimately, that led me to look to God, and place full trust in Him as I continued to grow in my faith. I’ve learned that these disappointments were only an opportunity for humbling, and for me to move higher. I’ve also learned to be obedient to His call because, as I’m continually being taught, you never know the extent of how God will use you and what He will show you until you let Him.

Through that, I was also overwhelmed with love, hope, and encouragement from people that truly loved Him. Their love humbled, and helped me understand God’s love for me, and showed me how to love others as He first loved us.

That left a lasting impression on my heart, and this became my hope and purpose for this mission trip. I believe God works in love, speaks in love and is revealed in our love. We were made to be lovers bold in broken places. I hope that as I’ve been touched by His love in this part of the world, that the Dalits too, can experience that where they are, and understand God’s love for them through us. That the love our God has.. always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. That in this broken world, His love never fails.

Wow that is awesome! I think if God is calling you to India, it's because He knows you'll do something great! Just trust and take that leap. :)

Please update us!

"We were made to be lovers bold in broken places." I agree 100%! Have a safe and awesome mission trip in India, I'm so excited for you! I'm sure you will learn so much from the people there and that you'll have a lot to offer them as well.

The book I'm currently reading is called The Supernatural Power of Forgiveness. You should definitely check out New Joy sometime! Haha yeah we do have some pretty cool lights that we use during worship sometimes :)
