San Francisco Photo Diary: Alcatraz ♥

Part deux of San Fran. We took the ferry over to Alcatraz, and did the audio tour. So. Worth. It. Well.. I find history very fascinating, so I actually had quite a good time listening to the audio tour, and exploring the location itself. We came across this tiny window right by the jail cells, and it overlooked the beautiful skyline of San Francisco. Sometimes I wonder if that view ever gave the inmates motivation to turn their lives around. Knowing that one day they'll be back out there. Back in their city, in hopes of living a better life. I'll let the photos do the talking.

Lovely shots but, it's bringing back the memories of the horrid smell of the island(thanks to the birds).

Great post~

Love all the images! You've definitely lightened the mood with the editing, haha! I've only been able to see Alcatraz from afar. Maybe I'll take a trip there when I'm in the area again!

Really awesome photos of Alcatraz! I haven't been there in a few years now. I am always amazed at the history when I go. Did you rent the recorded tour, gear?

@EV
Thanks :) There wasn't too bad a smell when I was there! Maybe it was cus it was much cooler weather.

@Michelle
Yeah I really enjoyed the tour! Always an interesting visit. And thanks girl :)

@Kat
Thank you :) Yup it's part of the tour actually, you just rent the audio headsets and explore on your own.

@Robots in Trouble
It can be if you read up on the history of the inmates and what happened in there, but it's also quite fascinating! I checked the show out the other day, wasn't too great after a few episodes haha

This is absolutely amazing! If I ever go to San Francisco, I have to visit that decrepit penitentiary. Wow.
