Waking up in Vancouver

I've been really enjoying these past couple of days. Yes, I'm practically living THE life right now. Pretty grateful for this break that I have though. School-free (not for long though! that's why I'm enjoying every bit of what I have left of my break), massage appointments, lunch dates, shopping and enjoying what Vancouver has to offer. What more can I ask for right? Been stumbling on some of Vancouver's hidden gems.. and I have to say, I'm blown away. It's such a beautiful city. Growing up in Metropolitan City (Singapore), I never really got to appreciate nature. I was constantly surrounded by skyscrapers, high-rise apartments, major shopping centers, and the hustle and bustle of city life.

So when I moved to Vancouver, it was an entire culture shock for me. (back then in 2001) Definitely a vast difference in comparison to Singapore. Anyways, as I was saying.. just being around nature has made me appreciate the place I'm currently living in so much more. If that makes sense. I love how we have four seasons. Each adding a different feel to the city, as the seasons change. Sitting along Beach Ave, dressed for the weather, with a hot chocolate at hand, makes me a very happy person I could seriously sit there for hours and just watch the waves crashing. Anyways with that being said, we continued onto Downtown soon after.. and found that almost everywhere has Christmas decorations up! Tis' the season to be jolly. So gets me in the Christmas spirit.
