Finally an update. A long awaited one. So what's new? Well for starters.. I'm done finals, done school -- and I'll be looking for a job fairly soon. Just taking a break before the New Year. (I can't justify it being well deserved..) Time sure flies, and we're almost a step away from 2011. I believe it's going to be an awesome one. Year of travels, fa sho. Can't wait to create memories, go on adventures, and make a difference. It's Christmas today, but for some reason it doesn't feel like it. Maybe I just am not feeling the festivities this season. I'm definitely looking forward to our annual family dinner though. Time passed waaaay too fast this past year. Where did this year go? I can't believe here I am, on Christmas morning, looking back at what I've done and accomplished this past year.
2010 was a year of growth. New friendships, cherished memories, new things learned, as well as experienced. I've met some of the most amazing people that I hold close to my heart this year, and I wouldn't trade that for the world. This year was also one of lessons. There's always lessons to be learned, right? Well there were many learned, that's for sure. The one that stuck out for me though, is to show His love, regardless of the circumstance. Sometimes.. I think we're all way too quick to judge. We all judge and make snap decisions or assumptions about people, or any given situation. Admit it. You'd be lying if you said you didn't. I've learned though.. to give people the benefit of the doubt. To show compassion towards others. Now I'm not saying it's easy, nor automatic. In fact, it took me awhile to justify certain situations I was being put in, and find it within myself to show that compassion. But take a moment to think about the possible story that may have made them or caused them to react or come off a certain way. I don't think I could ever be more understanding, till after this year.
With that being said, I've also learned that differences should not be feared, but accepted and handled with love. With love, also comes patience. I cannot tell you how many times my patience was put to the test this year.. But I'm glad they were. Going through and experiencing these situations only led me to learn more, and grow from it.
This year has really truly been a blessed one. I am so thankful for everything that has happened in the past year, and I am excited for what awaits the next! (Okay, I think I'll just close with a few pictures as to what I've been up to. Enjoy! I promise more after Christmas.)
