Take a leap of faith ♥

When we as God's children are living in faith,
we can have an exciting expectancy and quiet confidence
that God will give us exactly what we need,
when we need it.
Matthew 7:8-11

Having trouble sleeping part deux? Nah. Random thought though, Winter Con? Leaning strongly towards that.. But again, there's always a factor that holds me back from something I want to do. I swear I need to be pushed into certain things in order for me to do it. (of course that is not always the case. I would've drowned if swimming was taught to me that way lol.) A lot of things have happened this year that I was reluctantly forced into doing (or rather being thrown into it), that has turned out for the better. Good changes, you could say. I feel like I've grown as a person, and that my experiences have shaped me into a stronger, wiser, and more independent woman. However, with that being said.. I'm still half-hearted about certain things, or skeptical rather. I'm grateful though, and blessed to have friends and family in my life that constantly challenge me to do better, be a better person, especially when it comes to my relationship with God. One of those challenges? Stepping up for praise and worship for camp this year. That also led to leading PW for Fridays. never in a million years would i have thought that I would be up there, leading. Just not that kinda person. Or at least I wasn't back then. Stage fright ring a bell anyone? Anyways, this opportunity has brought me much closer to God. Even though this is only one aspect of it, it helped. Being able to praise Him through music, was an amazing feeling. That also reignited the song-writing me. I guess you could say.. Those opportunities were blessings in disguise, waiting to happen.

Trouble sleeping

Yes I do have trouble sleeping. Seems to be the case these days. The 3 A.M chats don't help either. Or the late nights out. I think I just have too much energy throughout the day that you'd think by the end of it, I would be out like a lamp. Wrong. It's the complete opposite. I keep tossing and turning, and I seem to think about the most randomest things. These thoughts mainly consist of what I'm doing, what I want to be, what I want to do, what I can do, what I'm going to do. And then there's God, work, and the whole episode of enrolling myself in school. My mind seems to be running on high-speed during the night. Weird eh? Because I could be mad tired, and this would still happen. I feel like over the past couple of weeks.. A lot of self-realization has taken place and I've become very driven to reach where I want to be and where I see myself in the near future. I'm on the fast track and can't slow down. I guess you could say it's a bittersweet feeling?

On another note, I'm excited for what the next few weeks will bring. I'm back on track with what I'm supposed to do, and it's a good feeling. Workaholic me is staying put for awhile. Of course, I wouldn't neglect you guys, and most definitely not neglect church! (I'm already being held accountable by a number of you for this haha) There's also going to be a change in the household. new additions to the house! (no, I'm not talking about siblings-wise) The cousins are moving in, in two weeks. Should be interesting, and I would hope fun as well. It's always a nice feeling coming home to a full house. I've missed that, although it might be hard at times to have my down time with all the noise. Anyways, it's getting late. I think it's time for bed. Good night. xo

Don't forget to remember

It's been some time since I've graduated from high school, and within these past few months.. I've bumped into some of my fellow classmates. I gotta say, I actually do miss them. Going from seeing them at the turn of a hallway, or lunch hour, to not at all, was quite a change. Something I noticed? There's also a change in their attitudes as well. A lot of the guys have somewhat grew up, and most definitely matured. (Which is nice to see) People are also definitely moving on with their lives, which is good to know. It makes me happy to know that some of my closest and dearest friends are getting along well with the next chapter of their lives. I guess you could say high school was our bubble. For some, our safe haven, and for others, a second home. Now that we're out of that bubble, things change, people change. We're all moving along. Onto bigger, better things. (I hope) When people ask me if I miss high school, I tell them no. I'm glad it was a fairly smooth transition to where I am right now, and I'm also grateful to the teachers who've taught me more than I can imagine. But I really don't miss it. I'm happy that I get to move on to another chapter of my life. When I look back at how different I was over the years, I have a sigh of relief that I’m a lot more comfortable with myself now. I also would acknowledge how easily I could have been swayed to fall down the wrong path back then. Needless to say, those were just some challenges that I had to go through to bring me where I am today, and I couldn't be more content.

P.S I miss you. A lot.

Thankful for XXI + Canucks + Good Company ♥

Another eventful weekend! It was Thanksgiving this past weekend (for us Canadians), what are YOU thankful for? I for one, am thankful for the wonderful family and friends in my life. For the moments in life that are simply breathtaking. I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head. Thankful for all the things I'm fortunate enough to have. Most importantly, for God being by my side every step of the way. I know Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks and all, but I think we shouldn't just limit that to one holiday. I guess with how we're always wanting more, we tend to forget to realize how fortunate most of us are to appreciate it, and give thanks for that. I didn't have a typical Thanksgiving dinner this year round, nor did I spend it with my family, but I'm glad to have spent it with people I enjoy being around most. On another note.. This weekend was the official opening of Forever 21! One of my favorite stores. Couldn't leave the store without a couple of good buys right? Well here they are!

1: Leopard Print Shrug Cardi 2: Zipper-detailed Bustier Dress 3: Chiffon Flowy Teal Top 4: Metallic Ruffled top 5: Tweed Wool Coat 6: Peranakan-inspired Necklace (not shown)

The store was nothing short of fab! However the insane line-ups and shoving of crazy shoppers wasn't too appealing. Did not stop Cheryl and I from shopping though! Thanks love for coming out and accompanying me! Friday's unofficial opening created quite the buzz. I have never seen a store so busy. Not to mention it was insanely hot in there. Waaay too many people. Add people's B.O onto that as well. The line-up on Friday wasn't too bad. Didn't have to wait too long. But Saturday's was over the top, and suffocating. 3 hours into the line-up, and I was finally out of there. Saw tons of people I haven't seen in ages as well at the store. Definitely a go-to store once the crowd dies down. Let me tell you, never again will I shop in that store if it's going to be like what it was on Saturday. Can you say claustrophobia!

Prior to that, we (Kim, Ben, Melanie and Elle) were at lunch and the Canucks Open Practice. Most exciting part was the shoot out. Even the alumni game wasn't too great. I guess it's cause they're oldies haha. So to the fans who didn't make it, you didn't miss out too much. Headed to Shabusen after that, and I gotta say.. our attempt at all you can eat without a guy, was an epic fail. We literally did one round of food, and was stuffed down to our stomachs. So much for all you can eat! But it was good nonetheless.

Pretty accurate I'd say

Your view on yourself:
You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You have many goals and want to achieve as much as you can. The jobs you enjoy are those that let you burn off your considerable excess energy.

How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Found this pretty interesting. True for the most part. Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm sure this weekend will bring about a more fun-filled post. xo
